TITLE: Dance of the Wolf
DESCRIPTION: Mixed Media 50"x95"
PRICE: N.A.
In the repetitive game played by politicians hman lives are devalued by monied interests. In our time, for instance, the world is governed by a conceived necessity for black gold. Political leaders manipulate language to convince the public of various motivations - religion, terrorism --but few of us doubt the bottom line is monetary. In the Wolf Mind an Uncle Sam figure wears a stars-and-stripes hat that resembles a barrel, leaking oil. Star forms become ears as the public face is shadowed by the hidden one.

The Wolf Dance depicts the arrogant wolf swishing his tail, doing the dance of power, his face barely hiding the dangerous one. Below his feet are the sacrifces to his ambition. At his hands are generals politicians, dignitaries--the puppets who carry out his plans.

Dance of the Wolf suggests how often political jingoism maskx the fleshly reality of human suffering. This large piece poses the question, "Who was behind the war?" and, "Who bears responsibility?". The wolf represents the economic forces ungirding the conflict, the struggle to control key economic and strategic areas of the globe, which in the process, devours its citizens. Huong remarks that she recognizes this wolf dance of politicians' and of warlords, which occurs across history and cultures.
